HONOLULU – The State Judiciary and the Volunteer Legal Services of Hawaii (VLSH) are pleased to announce that they will be sponsoring an “Ask-a-Lawyer” event for all Veterans who have served our Country.
DATE: Saturday, November 9, 2013 (Saturday before Veterans Day)
TIME: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Oahu Veterans Center (Near by Radford High School) 1298 Kukila Street, Honolulu, HI 96818
The event is part of the State Judiciary’s Access to Justice for Veterans Program, which is being handled by Circuit Judge Ed Kubo. The Judiciary, State Bar, and the University of Hawaii Law School all recognize that Americans enjoy our freedom because of those who have served our Country in the military. Many of these Veterans need legal assistance due to the difficulties in life that they have experienced, and they cannot afford to hire an attorney.
The purpose of this event is to give these Veterans free legal advice on how to handle issues facing them, and to refer them to other agencies that may be able to provide additional assistance needed by these Veterans. Attorneys, along with law students from the University of Hawaii Richardson Law School are volunteering to help these Veterans. Additionally, the Volunteer Legal Services of Hawaii, Mediation Center of the Pacific, and the Vet Center will also be present to assist the Veterans.
This event is the first of its kind in Hawaii, and the Chief Justice of the Hawaii Supreme Court, Mark Recktenwald, will be present to thank our Veterans and the legal volunteers.

Unfortunately I didn't find out about the Ask-a-Lawyer fair till I watched the news that night. Is there a way I can still find out about Lawyers willing to help Vets?
Off-topic. I had started a Facebook Page abut 2 years ago, but find it hard to get the word out. It's called "Vietnam Vets-Hawaii". Would be happy to hear from other Vets. Mahalo.
