The Adopt-A-School Day project identifies the needs of schools with community partners to fill the schools’ needs for one day. The collective one-day contributions of AASD partners to Hawaii schools highlight the positive impact that community involvement can have in the success of the education of Hawaii’s children. Campus beautification, supply donations, and skills training are some of the ways that the over 300 AASD-adopted schools have benefitted over the project’s life span.
There is no cost to adopt a school, but project costs may vary depending on the need of the individual school. Organizations, businesses, and individuals interested in becoming community partners are encouraged to attend an orientation meeting or visit the AASD website atwww.adoptaschoolday.org. Groups that are not able to make the community orientation meetings are encouraged to contact the Hawaii Jaycees to make other arrangements.
