The Grassroot Institute of Hawaii (GRI) is a non-profit [IRS 501c3], non-partisan, public policy think tank formed in 2001 by Hawaii residents who see the need for detailed study, analysis, investigation and reporting on the impact on the individual citizen by government and its procedures and departments in Hawaii. When appropriate, study results and recommendations will be advanced. Central to all activities of the Grassroot Institute are the vision and mission for individual self-government outlined in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the USA.

Hawaii's most active and independent small business advocacy organization. Small Business Hawaii (SBH) was founded in 1975 as the "Small Business Association of Hawaii" by small business leader Lex Brodie. SBH is a private, independent, tax exempt [501 (c) (6)] statewide association of 2,800+ business firms.
