McDonald’s Restaurants of Hawaii has partnered with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) program to assist Guard and Reserve service members in entering the civilian workforce.
“By joining the ESGR’s Hawaii Hires Heroes (H3) program, McDonald’s Restaurants of Hawaii is acting as an advocate of employee participation in the military, opening doors for our service members to civilian career opportunities,” said Robert Borek, ESGR Hawaii state chairman. “We would like to thank McDonald’s for pledging their support to our nation’s Guard and Reserve units.”
As a participant in H3, McDonald’s Restaurants of Hawaii pledges to recognize the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA); provide its managers and supervisors with tools to effectively manage employees; appreciate the values, leadership and unique skills service members bring to the workforce; and continually recognize and support our country’s service members and their families. Rich Floersch, McDonald’s Corporation’s executive vice president, worldwide human resources, also signed a statement of support for the Guard and Reserve today on behalf of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide.
“McDonald’s Restaurants of Hawaii recognizes the members of the Guard and Reserve and the talents and skill sets they bring as employees,” said Paulette Wage, human resources manager of McDonald’s Restaurants of Hawaii. “We thank these service members for everything they do for our nation and look forward to providing them with employment opportunities.”
Earlier this year, McDonald’s Restaurants of Hawaii also partnered with the U.S. Army’s Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) Program, which provides civilian job opportunities for soldiers and recruits once they have completed their service in the Army.
Guardsmen and reservists looking for employment or companies interesting in participating in Hawaii Hires Heroes and ESGR programs are invited to contact H3 at 808-672-1246 or hawaiihiresheroes@gmail.com, or ESGR at www.ESGR.mil
