Panos Prevedouros to Speak on Transit Alternatives at Feb. 28 Small Business Hawaii Sunrise

HONOLULU, HI - Internationally known transportation expert, Panos Prevedouros, professor of civil and environmental engineering at the University of Hawaii, will speak at the Small Business Hawaii Sunrise Networking Breakfast at 7 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, in the Pineapple Room, Macys, Ala Moana Center.

His topic will be "Results of an Evaluation of Transportation Alternatives for Oahu." He will discuss the current troubles including route selection and finances involved with the City & County of Honolulu administrations desire for a rail transit system on Oahu, which costs more than $6 billion and necessitating future tax increases and private property condemnation.

In addition to being a regular contributor to Hawaii Reporter and HonoluluTraffic.com, Prevedouros is on the KHVH News Radio show on Monday from 8 to 9 a.m. with Rick Hamada. He also serves as the head of the Hawaii Highway Users Alliance and is appointed as one of 5 members of the city's expert panel, which will select the "best" transit alternative for Honolulu.
