‘The Fast and Scurrilous’: A Statistical Numbers Game that Cost the Life of Border Agent Brian Terry

BY JEFF CHURCHILL – The Fast and Furious – is this a conspiracy of the Progressives exploitative campaign against of our 2nd Amendment gone wild?

You bet it is – and there’s proof how these egotistical zealots’ insidiousness got the best of them.

President Barack Hussein Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Attorney General Eric Holder and their fellow Progressives have a long standing agenda to disarm American’s.

Moreover, with the current crisis in Mexico dealing with these murdering drug cartels, it appears that these lifelong Politicians and Bureaucrats are exploiting this issue to cap our right to bear arms.

We know this because of the Obama Administrations continued efforts supporting the United Nations “Small Arms Treaty,” or better known as the “International Arms Control Treaty.”

If passed by the U.N. and ratified by the United States Senate, the “Small Arms Treaty” would almost certainly force the United States to:

*Enact tougher licensing requirements,

*CONFISCATE and DESTROY ALL “unauthorized” civilian firearms, and

*Create an International gun registry.

However, now they have a problem, because of their obsessive anti 2nd Amendment ideologies, one Border Patrol Agent has been murdered with one or more of the weapons recovered from the murder scene that have been linked to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms’, BATF, “Operation Fast and Furious.”  That murdered Agent was Brian Terry.

Plus, now there is speculation that another Agent from Homeland Securities, ICE program, may also have been murdered with weapons allowed to walk across the border with the BATF agents watching as the Drug Cartels beefed up their weapons arsenal; all because of a statistical faux pas; or was it.

What I perceive started this fiasco that the Obama Administration, including Attorney General Eric Holder is experiencing today was a statistic gone wild that was published by the BATF.

In February 2008, William Hoover, assistant director for field operations at the BATF testifying before the House of Representatives flubbed up, or did he, by stating “there is more than enough evidence to indicate that over 90% of the firearms that have either been recovered in, or interdicted in transport to Mexico, originated from  various sources within the United States.”

Hoover wasn’t the only one misrepresenting the facts.  One of his underlings William Newell, Special Agent in Charge of the BATF office in Phoenix, Arizona, in May 2008, released a statement “When 90 percent-plus of the firearms recovered from these violent drug cartels are from a U.S. source, we have a responsibility to do everything we can to stem the illegal flow of these firearms to these thugs.”

So, naturally salivating at the opportunity to get this whopping statistic of 90% out before the sympathetic Liberal/Progressives in America, the continuance of the gaff was made by President Obama during a joint press conference on April 16, 2009, with Mexico’s President Felipe Calderon.   “Obama stated that more than 90% of all guns recovered by Mexican authorities came from the United States;” this was just months after being sworn in as President.   Secretary Clinton also joined in this blubbering misstatement of facts during a press conference back in 2009 in Mexico, in an attempt to prove their agenda that firearms dealers all across Arizona and Texas were allegedly selling and shipping hoards of firearms to the drug cartels; when in fact they were not even close.

The majority of weapons in fact were coming from suppliers in Europe and Asia; not the United States!

Was this a “Freudian” slip or a flap, or was it a major malfunctioning miscommunication between the underlings at BATF, the Obama Administration and the House of Representatives gone wild?   I believe they got caught!

Here is where the gaff gone wild got started, as reported by William La Jeunesse and Maxim Lott on April 2, 2009, from Fox News, “in 2007-2008, according to the ATF,” ironically by Special Agent William Newell, Mexico submitted 11,000 guns to the BATF for tracing.  Close to 6,000 were successfully traced, and of those, 90 percent, 5,114 to be exact, according to testimony in Congress by William Hoover, were found to have come from the U.S.

But in those same two years, according to the Mexican government, 29,000 guns were recovered at crime scenes.”

All in all, 83 percent of the guns found at crime scenes in Mexico could not be traced to the United States.

So, why did these overzealous anti 2nd Amendment Politicians and Bureaucrats continue the misstatements?

They were attempting to justify a boost in the BATF’s budget, an additional $10 Million of our tax dollars from Obama’s failed economic stimulus by adding additional agents to the newly reborn “Operation Gun Runner;” which is now the infamous “Operation Fast and Furious.”  Who in 2009 began funneling piles of high powered weapons, through local U.S. firearms dealers to the Mexican Drug Cartels making no attempt to seize these weapons and the murdering thugs.

This no doubt was an all out effort to boost their cause by fraudulently enhancing their statistics so they can systematically chisel away at our right to bear arms.

A long story short, the Obama Administration in its efforts to tweak a statistical blunder got caught with its pants down, which cost American lives along the border; including thousands of Mexican citizens deep within Mexico.

The sad issue is, now these zealots who are attempting to cover their tracks are now, yet again, blaming former President George W. Bush as the one who started this fiasco back in 2005, under the name of Operation Gun Runner.  However, BATF’s old program, Operation Gun Runner was to implement a tracking system called “E Trace.”  “E Trace” is a tracking system that was to be installed throughout the United States, Mexico, Central America and South America to help trace firearms that might be connected to the U.S.

Yes, it was a numbers game gone a rye; that ultimately aided in the murder of United States Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, forever impacting his family.  Also, the needless American lives lost along the Mexican border and over 45,000 Mexican citizens, at a cost to us, the taxpayers, of $10 Million buckaroos.

  1. Our own Federal government trafficked over 2000 guns to Mexico in a blatant, back-door attempt to rob us of our constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

Holder committed perjury when he claimed in congressional testimony that he knew nothing about ‘Fast and Furious’. We now know for a fact that it was regularly reported on in weekly memos personally addressed to him. Eric Holder received at least five weekly memos beginning in July 2010, including four weeks in a row, describing Operation Fast and Furious. The memos were to Holder from Michael Walther, the director of the National Drug Intelligence Center.

So what did Obama know and when did he know it?

These ‘fast & spurious’ gun-running Feds are not only guilty of perjury and murder but also of bankrolling ruthless criminals, international terrorists, right/left-wing paramilitaries and various death squads with their counter-productive, sado-moralist policy of Prohibition.

Colombia, Peru, Mexico or Afghanistan with their coca leaves, marijuana buds or poppy sap are not igniting temptation in the minds of our weak, innocent citizens. These countries are duly responding to the enormous demand that comes from within our own borders. Invading or destroying these countries, thus creating more hate, violence, instability, injustice and corruption, will not fix our problem. We need to collectively admit that we are sick. — Prohibition is neither a sane nor a safe approach; left unabated, its puritanical flames will surely engulf every last one of us!
