HONOLULU, HAWAII – The campaign to elect Civil Engineer Panos Prevedouros Honolulu’s next Mayor is grateful for the number of contributions supporting UH Engineering Professor Prevedouros in his run against the status quo politicians.

Reflecting the campaign’s grass roots effort, nearly 1,000 individual contributions have been made- people donating what they can afford- anywhere from $10 to $25 to several thousand dollars.

As the campaign heads into its final weeks, momentum is growing as more and more people see that Panos can win this race.

“We are just amazed at the number of working people who have donated to our campaign to help get our city in order,” Prevedouros says. “In this election cycle we’ve raised $137,000 and $95.500 in the last two months– and this does not include any special interest donations from developers, bankers, lawyers- the classic ‘pay to play’ donations Carlisle and Caldwell have built their campaigns on.”

Prevedouros explains that “special interests don’t go out and vote for candidates. A large donation from a special interest group doesn’t equate to votes necessarily. It’s the people whose interests I have at heart,” Prevedouros continues. “They understand that and donate whatever they can- they’re the ones who are going to go out and make their vote count and tell their friends to vote for me as well.”
