REPORT FROM HAWAIIAN AIRLINES – Hawaiian Airlines scored the highest marks for best on-time performance and fewest canceled flights among the nation’s 15 largest carriers in October, as reported today by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Air Travel Consumer Report. Hawaiian’s flights arrived on schedule 94.8 percent of the time throughout October, which was 14.6 percentage points better than the industry average, in earning the DOT’s #1 ranking for on-time performance.

In addition, the DOT reported that Hawaiian ranked first overall in the category of fewest flight cancellations for October at 0.2 percent, representing 12 cancellations out of of 6,204 total flights. Hawaiian provides daily nonstop service to Hawai‘i from 11 gateway cities in North America – more cities than any other carrier – using Airbus A330-200 and Boeing 767-300 aircraft, making it the only carrier to offer wide-body, twin-aisle aircraft for all transpacific flights.

Hawai‘i’s largest and longest-serving carrier is also the leading provider of air service between the islands of Hawai‘i. The DOT’s Air Travel Consumer Report is available at https://www.dot.gov/individuals/air-consumer/air-travel-consumer-reports. About Hawaiian Airlines Hawaiian has led all U.S. carriers in on-time performance for each of the past eight years (2004-2011) as reported by the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Consumer surveys by Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure and Zagat have all ranked Hawaiian the highest of all domestic airlines serving Hawai‘i. Now in its 84th year of continuous service, Hawaiian is Hawai‘i’s biggest and longest-serving airline, as well as the largest provider of passenger air service from its primary visitor markets on the U.S. mainland.

Hawaiian offers nonstop service to Hawai‘i from more U.S. gateway cities (11) than any other airline, along with service from Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Australia, American Samoa, and Tahiti.

New nonstop service will begin between Honolulu and Auckland, New Zealand (March 13, 2013) and Taipei, Taiwan (July 2013). Hawaiian also provides approximately 170 daily jet flights between the Hawaiian Islands. Hawaiian Airlines, Inc. is a subsidiary of Hawaiian Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: HA).
