WAIMANALO, HAWAII – There will be a celebration of Hawaii Radio and Entertainment pioneer Krash Kealoha in his hometown of Waimanalo. Krash Kealoha, whose real name is Victor Opiopio will also be honored as part of the Waimanalo Christmas Parade from 9 am-11 am on December 11, 2010.
Andrew Jamila Jr., Waimanalo Christmas Parade Founder and Coordinator, said “We would like to dedicate this year’s parade to Krash Kealoha on behalf of the good people of Waimanalo.”
The family of Krash Kealoha will be riding in the parade as the second Grand Marshall, flanked by vehicles from KCCN FM 100 and Hawaiian 105 KINE Radio Stations per the families request.
This will be the 16th year of the parade, sponsored for the past 11 years by the Waimanalo Construction Coalition.
Immediately following the parade, there will be a “Celebration of Life” for Krash at Waimanalo Beach Park from 12 noon to 5 pm filled with Hawaiian Music. The public is invited to share a memory or two of this wonderful radio personality, record producer, manager, program director, actor who affected so many in our Hawaiian community.
