Marine Corps Base Hawaii to Host Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII, Oahu – Marine Corps Base Hawaii will host a Christmas tree lighting ceremony Dec. 5 at the Base Chapel beginning at 5 p.m.

The ceremony will be open to all military members aboard MCB Hawaii, their families and the general public.

Col. Robert Rice, commanding officer MCB Hawaii, will flip the switch that illuminates the base’s Christmas tree. He will be assisted by students from Mokapu Elementary School who recently won the school’s essay and coloring contest.

This free event will feature concerts by the U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific Band; carols by the Mokapu Chorus, Windward Choral Society and Base Volunteer Network; and a special guest appearance from the North Pole.
