Honolulu Weekly Solar Photovoltaic Permits Issued

Residential PV Permits
For the week of March 11, 2013 to March 17, 2013, Honolulu’s total number of residential photovoltaic (PV) permits issued was 256, up 11.8% from the previous week and up 88.2% from the same period last year. Year-to-date (YTD), Honolulu’s total number of residential PV permits reached 2,468, a 53.8% increase from the same period last year.
In this week, Honolulu’s total value of residential PV permits was $7.903 million, up 16.3% from the previous week and up 72.5% from the same period last year. YTD, Honolulu’s total value of residential PV permits reached $74.763 million, a 43.1% increase from the same period last year.
In the current week, the average value of residential PV permits was about $30,900. This value is higher than the average value in the previous week ($29,700), but lower than the average value in the same period last year ($33,700).
Commercial PV Permits
For the week of March 11, 2013 to March 17, 2013, Honolulu issued 12 commercial PV permits, higher than the 9 permits issued in the previous week and also higher than the 4 permits issued during the same period last year. YTD, Honolulu’s total numbers of commercial PV permits reached 70, a 133.3% increase from the same period last year.
In this week, Honolulu’s total value of commercial PV permits was $3.711 million, up 29.6% from the previous week but a 29.3% decrease from the same period last year. YTD, Honolulu’s total value of commercial PV permits reached $23.453 million, a 41.1% increase from the same period last year.
In the current week, the average value of commercial PV permits was about $309,000, which is lower than the average value in the previous week ($318,000) and also lower than the average value in the same period last year ($1,312,000).
