HONOLULU, HAWAII – The American Resort Development Association of Hawaii (ARDA-Hawaii) is seeking nominees for the first annual Timeshare with Aloha Awards. Nominations are being accepted for the thousands of employees dedicated to service and excellence in Hawaii’s growing resort and timeshare industry. One outstanding employee from the island of Hawaii, Kauai, Maui and Oahu will be recognized. Candidates will be judged on their dedication at the workplace, relationship with coworkers, extraordinary customer service, and community volunteerism.
The organization’s leadership is pleased to showcase and reward the hard-working members of the community who have achieved excellence in the travel and tourism field. The winner from each county will receive a two-night stay at a Hawaii timeshare resort and $1,000 to spend as they wish to make it a great vacation.
“We want to recognize those who make Hawaii such a special place to visit, beyond what we have to offer in terms of sand, sun and surf,” said ARDA-Hawaii Chair Daniel Dinell, who is also the Regional Vice President of Sales & Marketing Programs at Hilton Grand Vacations. “By truly embodying and living the aloha spirit in what they do each day, contenders for the Timeshare with Aloha Award create an unforgettable experience for visitors to our islands,” he continued.
The impact of timeshare ownership in Hawaii is felt in a number of ways in the Islands, and the indicators show the importance of this sector to the state’s overall economy. For example, a 2010 report found that the Hawaii timeshare industry contributes $87 million a year in state taxes. The Hawaii timeshare industry employs about 4,500 people, almost all of whom work in full-time jobs. Those employees earn a total of nearly $294 million a year in salaries and wages.
Nominations are open to individuals or companies at no cost and simply require a less than 250-word narrative of why the candidate should be considered for the award. Nominations will be accepted through October 31, 2011. Nomination forms are available at https://www.arda.org/alohaawards or by emailing timeshare@brightlightmarketing.com. Nominations must be mailed to 1001 Bishop St., Suite 900, Honolulu, HI 96813 or emailed to timeshare@brightlightmarketing.com
