I had the good fortune to attend to positive events in our community this week.
I was at the grand opening festivities for the Pearl City Urgent Care facility. This should give some hope and peace of mind to the residents of the Leeward Coast who have been upset and anxious at the prospect of losing the convenient medical care once provided by Hawaii Medical Center. Reopening a hospital at the HMC – West location will be my highest priority. Health care is one of the most important parts of our lives.
Some of the employees at the Pearl City Urgent Care center are former Hawaii Medical Center West staffers. The familiar faces that you’ve seen in the past will be there to help you. They have urgent care, digital x-ray services, lab work, occupational health and workers’ compensation, back-to-work physicals, sports and school physicals, drug testing and trauma care.
In another happy turn out, I had the chance to personally congratulate the James Campbell High School cheerleaders when they returned triumphantly from winning the Gator Bowl Cheer and Dance National Competition in Jacksonville, Florida. We are so proud!
Over the New Year’s holiday week, the JCHS Varsity Cheerleaders took first place while the JCHS Junior Varsity Cheerleaders took second place. The entire team received awards for Most Spirited and Best Choreography. The squad also performed in the Gator Bowl Halftime show.
In an urgent care littleton office, there is also two positive things that happen. One is that it is newly opened and the second one is that all of the employees there are very caring.
