The Locations Foundation – the non‐profit arm of Hawaii’s largest locally owned real estate firm, Prudential Locations– announced today that it has donated $10,000 to support the Philippines Haiyan relief efforts. The monetary contribution was provided to the American Red Cross and used to distribute relief items, repair and rebuild shelters, provide healthcare and ensure access to clean water and sanitation systems.
“As real estate agents, we know first‐hand how important it is to have a safe and comfortable place to call home; our hearts ache for those in the Philippines whose home‐life has been devastated by Typhoon Haiyan,” says Jodee Farm, Foundation board member and partner at Prudential Locations.
“We are sending our thoughts and prayers to those affected, and hope that our show of aloha with this donation will help with relief efforts that are so desperately needed at this time.”
The American Red Cross is a nonprofit organization that provides international humanitarian aid, shelter, food and emotional support to victims of disasters.
Prudential Locations was just recognized last night (November 14, 2013) by Pacific Business News for its philanthropy – receiving the 2013 Business Leadership Hawaii award for Community Spirit.
The Locations Foundation is funded solely by donations from Prudential Locations’ real estate agents and staff, many of whom give a percentage of their annual income to the Foundation, alongside many hours of volunteer time. Celebrating more than 20‐years of giving back to Hawaii’s community, The Locations Foundation gave more than $150,000 and 2,000 volunteer hours to local charitable causes last year alone.
