HONOLULU – Trevor Ozawa, Hawaii Kai resident and attorney, officially filed his nomination papers today at Honolulu Hale to fill the Honolulu City Council – District 4 seat. Ozawa hopes to replace Honolulu City Councilmember Stanley Chang, who will vacate his post to run for the U.S. Congress.
“I’m running for the Honolulu City Council because this community needs a thoughtful and passionate leader who understands the everyday issues that families face: from the rising costs of living in paradise to keeping our communities healthy and safe,” said Ozawa. “My roots are deeply seeded in this district. Our community deserves to be represented by someone from the district so that we can ensure that this person will continue to be held accountable by friends, family, and neighbors that continue to live, work, and play in East Honolulu.”
A life-long resident of District 4, Ozawa’s priority concerns are the basic infrastructure needs of the district, including potholes and traffic congestion, in addition to sound fiscal policies and government accountability and efficiency.
Ozawa attended Kamiloiki Elementary before attending Kamehameha Schools – Kapalama. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Southern California and thereafter received his law degree from Suffolk University Law School. Ozawa currently practices law at Clay Chapman Iwamura Pulice & Nervell.

Developer owned like Chang. First to give money is Kamehameha Schools and that means mall on green space , cabins on the mountains of Ka Ivi. He has never been on Neighbor hood Board or even urn before. He is not from the district.
My comment is a positive one for Trevor as his commitment to the district though small in the past his work to do more at board meetings and with the community is ongoing. With other candidates looking for a seat to run for from outside the area Trevor is a clean slate.
