The Aloha United Way and Goodwill fight poverty by providing programs and services to those that are in despite need. Goodwill offer Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) to over 1,800 families and hopes to reach the 2,000+ mark this year. Complementing these VITA efforts are a series of workshops on financial literacy offered in various Goodwill locations.
For families in need of available refundable tax credits to help support their families the VITA program can make a huge difference. And when combined with the financial literacy workshops it provides the type of assistance that can have a significant impact on helping a family get back on their feet and stay there.
