U.S. gross domestic product rose 5.9% at a seasonally adjusted annual rate in the fourth quarter, compared to an initial reading of 5.7% growth, the Commerce Department reported.
Economic growth accelerated to the strongest pace in more than six years late last year, as revisions showed businesses slowed inventory reduction and boosted spending, but consumers spent less than first thought.
