BY JIM DOOLEY – A man charged this week with kidnapping a four-year-old girl had been released from jail in
December after serving his latest sentence for violating the terms of HOPE probation.
Ian Coen, 37, of Ewa Beach, was charged Wednesday evening and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Neighbors found the girl after Coen took her to a nearby convenience store, according to poolice.
Coen has a history of misdemeanor and Family Court offenses and was placed in the Family Court version of HOPE probation in October 2008 after pleading guilty to two third degree assault charges, according to court records.
He was arrested four times for HOPE violations and served jail sentences of 5, 15, 60 and 181 days before being released in December 2010.
Coen was sentenced to a new two-year standard probation term in July of last year after pleading guilty to a separate charge of abusing a family or household member.
