Here’s my prediction about the California recall election:
About 2 weeks before the date of the election, California Gov. Gray Davis will resign, and Lt. Gov. Bustamente will automatically become the new governor.
Since that little trick makes the Davis recall election “moot,” it will be canceled, while both Davis and Bustamente proudly proclaim that they did it to save the poor embattled California taxpayer the $67 million reputed cost of the recall election.
Thus they will become “heroes” to the electorate and, as a fringe benefit, will have a Democrat governor without risking holding a recall election that they might lose.
Maybe Bustamente will then appoint Davis as the lieutenant governor.
Maybe they haven’t thought of it yet, so don’t let them read this, OK?
