Honolulu, Hawaii – October 17, 2011 – Kaiser Permanente Hawaii provides urgent care to patients no matter which island they’re visiting, including what’s known as the ninth Hawaiian island, Las Vegas. Hawaii’s largest health care provider today announced that it has contracted with Concentra Urgent Care and Walgreens in Las Vegas to provide urgent care for members who may need assistance while visiting this popular destination.

Kaiser Permanente Hawaii members now have access to 13 Walgreens and five Concentra Urgent Care clinics in the Las Vegas area, including three located on the Strip.

“This network of urgent care clinics provides more convenient access to care for our members, so they can get back to having fun on their vacation,” said Susan Murray, Kaiser Permanente Hawaii vice president of Safety, Quality, and Service.

The Walgreens and Concentra clinics in Las Vegas are available to all Kaiser Permanente Hawaii members for urgent care only. Members who experience non-life threatening health problems while in Las Vegas are encouraged to first contact their doctor’s office in Hawaii or Kaiser Permanente’s after-hours advice nurse to discuss their situation.

Concentra Urgent Care clinics are staffed by board-certified physicians and clinicians, with Walgreens “Take Care” clinics staffed by board-certified family nurse practitioners or physician assistants.
