Element Media Inc. Acquires Green Magazine Hawaii

Element Media, Inc. – Hawai‘i’s leading custom publishing firm specializing in magazine publishing, integrated marketing and events – announced today that it has added another publication to  its name, Green Magazine Hawai‘i, Hawai‘i’s sustainable living magazine, and the website GreenMagazineHawaii.com.  The new acquisition adds to Element Media’s growing portfolio of modern lifestyle and business magazines.  The first issue of GREEN Magazine Hawai‘i, under the ownership of Element Media, will be distributed in September 2013.

Green Magazine Hawai‘i was founded in 2008 and is Hawai‘i’s premier magazine dedicated to informing and educating Hawai‘i residents about sustainable living. Green Magazine Hawai‘i features a diverse array of original and easy-to-digest content, delivering smart, practical and sustainable ideas and solutions. From food, health and people to technology and conservation, Green Magazine Hawai‘i is an invaluable resource for environmentally conscious residents across the islands.  The publication’s mission suits Element Media’s long-standing commitment to sustainability and corporate responsibility towards the environment.

“We are thrilled to add Green Magazine Hawai‘i to our portfolio of niche publications,” said Jamie Giambrone, co-owner of Element Media, Inc. and co-publisher of Green Magazine Hawai‘i.  “We have always dedicated an issue of Pacific Edge Magazine to leaders in sustainable business for the past five years. We now have an opportunity to speak directly to conscious consumers through Green Magazine Hawai‘i all year long, educating and informing our community on the most recent trends and issues pertaining to sustainability in Hawai‘i.”

“Since we began publication of Green in the spring of 2009, the magazine stands alone as the sole publication in Hawai‘i dedicated entirely to sustainability,” said Kevin Whitton, co-founder of Green Magazine Hawai‘i and managing editor at Element Media. “What started as a passion to create a meaningful conversation based around sustainability has evolved into a legitimate media platform making a positive impact in people’s lives and for the environment. I’m excited to see the publication continue to grow and expand its reach into communities across the state with Element Media.”

Currently, 10,000 copies of Green Magazine Hawai‘i are distributed quarterly across the state of Hawai‘i to health food stores, home stores, bookstores, specialty shops and boutiques, and at select community events and expos. In addition to the print magazine circulation, nearly 10,000 copies of the Green Magazine Hawai‘i eZine are viewed–the complete online version of the magazine.

Green Magazine Hawai‘i will also become the official sponsor of Green Drinks Honolulu, a sustainable networking event held on the first Tuesday of every month.
