On Friday, our campaign picked up support from EMILY’s List, one of the nation’s leading advocacy organizations. With nearly 1 million supporters, EMILY’s List has raised more than $82 million for progressive female candidates across the country.
In their release, here’s what EMILY’s List had to say:
“… running for Mazie’s open seat is the fabulous rising star, the formidable Tulsi Gabbard… for whom no hurdle seems too steep. … Eminently well-rounded … what better gift could you could give yourself, your mother, your sister – or the country’s children, seniors and veterans…”
And here’s what The Hill, a Washington DC, newspaper reported:
“Gabbard, a Honolulu city councilwoman, is the Democratic front-runner to replace Rep. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii), who is running for the Senate. Gabbard could face a tough challenge in the Democratic-leaning district from former Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann.”
“Formidable.” “Front-runner.”
This is big news. The momentum has swung to our side, and as people hear Tulsi’s message of renewal and energy, we are picking up more and more support each and every day.
