REPORT FROM KAUAI COUNTY – After winning local, state and regional competitions, four Kaua’i athletes are heading for the Hershey’s Track and Field Games North American finals.
They’ll travel to Hershey, PA next week along with seven other Hawai’i track and field stars, six from O‘ahu and one from Hilo. Nearly 500 athletes from across the country and Canada are expected to participate in the Hershey’s finals.
The Kaua’i contingent includes: Alyssa Miyamoto; Bryceson Abigania; Levi Otsuka-Luis; and Makeyah Wisneski.
Miyamoto will compete in the softball throw for 13 and 14 year old girls. Abigania will be running in the 100 meter race for 11 and 12 year old boys. Otsuka-Luis is set to compete in the 200 meter run for 13 and 14 year old boys. Wisneski will participate in the 50 meter race for nine and 10 year old girls.
All of the athletes’ expenses will be covered by The Hershey Company including: airfare; lodging; and meals.
Their trip will include visits to the HERSHEYPARK™ amusement park, the company factory and Hershey’s Chocolate World® Attraction.
