“GET A JOB!,” the hilarious, heartfelt motion picture comedy from Hawaii will have it’s Las Vegas premier at the Las Vegas International Film Festival in the Hilton Theater of the Hilton Hotel Resort Casino on July 17, at 3:35 p.m.
The film’s stars Willie K and Eric Gilliom (of the Barefoot Natives) will attend the festival, along with writer/director Brian Kohne and other members of the cast and crew. Brian will also participate in a screenwriter’s panel on Saturday July 16 at 5:00 pm in the Hilton Ballroom.
“GET A JOB” was recently honored as “Best Comedy” at the 2011 Detroit Windsor International Film Festival, and both “Best Hawaiian Feature” and “Audience Choice Feature” at the Big Island Film Festival. The movie stars many of Hawaii’s top entertainers including Uncle Willie K, Eric Gilliom, Augie T, Jake Shimabukuro, Henry Kapono Ka’aihue, Amy Hanaiali’i, and Carolyn Omine (of “The Simpsons”).
It also boasts special appearances by internationally recognized islanders Mick Fleetwood, Willie Nelson, and Pat Simmons of the Doobie Brothers. An unconventional musical, the “GET A JOB” soundtrack features twenty-seven songs from the islands by artists such as the Barefoot Natives, Don Tiki, Amy Hanaiali’i, the Throwdowns, Willie K, Avi Ronen, Kealoha, and Kristen Grove.
