HONOLULU – Lt. Governor Duke Aiona, the leading Republican candidate for Governor, today announced that he raised nearly $200,000 for his gubernatorial campaign over a two-month period from July 1 to Sept. 3. Nearly 75 percent of the 1,000 donations he received during the reporting period were $100 or less.
Duke Aiona has raised more than $2.5 million for his gubernatorial campaign. Approximately 88 percent of his donations have come from Hawai‘i residents.
“No matter who our opponent will be, our grassroots campaign is going to face a campaign war chest funded by big money special interests,” Lt. Governor Duke Aiona said. “As our message gets out, more citizens from all backgrounds are joining our campaign to ensure balance, integrity and good judgment in state government. We treat every donation – large and small – as an investment in a brighter future for Hawai‘i.”
