BY PAUL BREWBAKER — This year’s annual conference of the Hawaii Economic Association promises to be a good one.
Governor Lingle will be the keynote speaker at the conference luncheon, at which the HEA will award its annual scholarship.
Mitch D’Olier from Kaneohe Ranch will speak on Hawaii’s “Race to the Top” education award.
A full slate of panelists reviewing the Great Recession, financial regulatory reform, and Hawaii economic forecasts (from DBEDT and UHERO) will fill the morning.
It all takes place at the Halekulani Hotel Ballroom in Waikiki, Friday, October 1, 2010 from 7:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., including continental breakfast and lunch, along with free valet parking. (This is not a Furlough Friday.)
