BY LILLIAN KOLLER – Many employers rightfully complain about job creation programs that have stiff requirements and daunting paperwork. They may well seem more trouble than they’re worth.
By contrast, it is easy to enroll your company in Hawaii Premium Plus (HPP), an innovative job creation and economic stimulus initiative of the Lingle-Aiona Administration.
There are no “stiff requirements.” Just ask your new employees three questions: Have you been unemployed at least six weeks, how many people are in your household and what is your household’s annual income?
And there is no “daunting paperwork.” HPP is paperless.
Just go online, access a one-page interactive form and provide some basic information – such as your company name and bank routing number. Then the State directly deposits $1,680 ($140 per month) into your account to help pay the health insurance of a new employee for one year.
It couldn’t be much easier.
If you want to expand your business by hiring more full-time staff than you had at the start of this year, then HPP is right for you. To learn more, please visit our Web site: www.PremiumPlus.hawaii.gov
