REPORT FROM TECHNOLOGY NEWS BYTES – Technology News Bytes presents the 3rd Annual Hawaii Social Media Summit, part of the Technology Expo for Business and Consumers, taking place at Blaisdell on October 17 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
The Social Media Summit will share best practices and insights on developing and implementing large-scale social marketing and advertising strategy. This year’s event will focus on the latest in social media trends, with speaking sessions by several of the nation’s most talented social media experts, including two of the social media gurus from Forbes’ list of the Top 50 Social Media Power Influencers, Mike O’Neil and Lori Ruff.
Opening keynote speakers O’Neil and Ruff, better known as the “LinkedIn Rockstars,” follow a proven LinkedIn business methodology that will guide their audience through the essential ins and outs of LinkedIn, especially for sales and business development. They present it in dynamic fashion, making use of music and props to educate, inform and entertain their audience.
Other scheduled speakers include last year’s Top 15 Social Media Award winner Rob Bertholf, Susan M. Tenby of TechSoup Global, Kimanzi Constable of Chaotic Organization, Edward Wright of Verizon Wireless, Susan Tenby of TechSoup Global, Liz Strauss of SOBCon and Yancey Unequivocally-Jim of Empowered Presentations.
In addition, the Social Media Summit this year will feature a Content Camp track, valuable panels hosted by local experts in the field that will take attendees through planning a social media campaign and getting started, being proactive, publishing and promoting content and tracking a campaign’s success. Among the Content Camp panelists and moderators are Jason Seaborne of Hagadone Printing, John Garcia of The Green House, Toby Tamaye of AT Marketing, blogger Catherine Toth, Gene Park of The Limtiaco Company and Melissa Chang of Nonstop Honolulu. The track goes from 10:30 a.m.-3:20 p.m.
