BY KIMBERLY MARCOS PINE – While many of us are enjoying a day off with our families, veterans who we are celebrating are living a difficult life right now. For the last 6 years I have been helping homeless veterans get off the street and start the process of rebuilding their lives. We now have Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans who have become homeless and they need your help.
Hawaii News Now is doing a 2 part series about US VETS and what they are doing to help our homeless veterans here in Hawaii. Check out this video.

In honor of the men and women who I have had the honor to get to know at US VETS, I am trying to personally raise $2,000. I would be honored to have your support.
If you would like to help, please visit my fundraising page at:

All donations given here goes directly to U.S. VETS and is tax deductible.
US VETS also has a fundraiser this Saturday. Visit www.patriotrunhawaii.com for information. If you cannot do the run they are also collecting donations and clothes at the race. The website has directions and more information about US VETS which houses over 200 veterans a day.
As a military wife I believe it is a crime for someone to become homeless after they served their county. We must do our part to ensure that no fallen comrade is left behind. This is the least we can do for the men and women who risked so much so that we can all be free.
