Residential Permit
For the week of April 29, 2013 to May 5, 2013, Honolulu’s total number of residential photovoltaic (PV) permits issued was 240, up 49.1% from the previous week and up 23.1% from the same period last year. Year-to-date (YTD), Honolulu’s total number of residential PV permits reached 4,205, a 36.1% increase from the same period last year.
In this week, Honolulu’s total value of residential PV permits was $5.8 million, up 45.4% from the previous week but down 20.2% from the same period last year. YTD, Honolulu’s total value of residential PV permits reached $126.7 million, a 25.3% increase from the same period last year.
In the current week, the average value of residential PV permits was about $24,000. This value is lower than the average value in the previous week ($24,600), and also lower than the average value in the same period last year ($37,000).
Commercial PV Permits
For the week of April 29, 2013 to May 5, 2013, Honolulu issued only 1 commercial PV permit, same as the previous week but lower than the 3 permits issued during the same period last year. YTD, Honolulu’s total numbers of commercial PV permits reached 102, an 82.1% increase from the same period last year.
In this week, Honolulu’s total value of commercial PV permits was $0.217 million, up 290.9% from the previous week, but down 88.9% from the same period last year. YTD Honolulu’s total value of commercial PV permits reached $37.7 million, an 11.9% increase from the same period last year.
In the current week, the average value of commercial PV permits was about $217,000, which is higher than the average value in the previous week ($55,500) but lower than the average value in the same period last year ($649,300).
