HONOLULU – Oct. 1, 2014 – Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM), a leading health and well-being company, recently relocated its Hawaii offices to accommodate its growing team.
The new space is dedicated to Humana and occupies more than 4,200 square feet. The space includes a combination of permanent offices, touchdown spaces for sales agents and visitors, conference rooms and a break room. Humana previously occupied executive suites that were approximately 2,200 square feet. Humana currently has 40 associates in Hawaii.
To celebrate the opening of the new office, Humana hosted a traditional Hawaiian Blessing Ceremony. The ceremony was officiated by Kumu Blaine K. Kia and featured a Pule Wehe (opening prayer), Pikai, Ho’onoa, Ho’okupu, Ho’ailona, and Ho’omaikai (closing prayer).
“The new office space allows us to support our Medicare Advantage members in Hawaii, offer the products that meet their health care needs, and guide them to the health and well-being they deserve,” said Mike Franks, Market Leader for Humana’s Senior Products in Hawaii.
Humana specializes in Medicare solutions for the Kupuna of the state of Hawaii, offering Medicare HMO and PPO health plans, prescription drug plan, Medicare supplement policies, and private fee-for-service health plans. In addition, Humana also offers a suite of financial protection products designed for people of all ages. Humana offers plans in Honolulu, Kauai, and Maui counties.
The Medicare Advantage Annual Election Period (AEP) starts Oct. 15 and ends Dec. 7, 2014. During this time, Medicare beneficiaries can select a health care plan that best meets their needs.
“The state of Hawaii is an important market for Humana and we are excited to be growing in the Medicare Advantage space,” said Franks. “Medicare Advantage beneficiaries will have some great options this AEP with Humana’s product offerings.”
The new office is located at the Pacific Guardian Center, 733 Bishop Street, Suite 2100 in Honolulu.
