Image & Imagination exhibition opens Sept. 5 at HiSAM as part of First Friday

Hi Sam logoHONOLULU – Image & Imagination, an exhibition of curiosity-inspiring works from the Art in Public Places Collection, opens at 6 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Hawai’i State Art Museum’s (HiSAM) Diamond Head Galleries.

Image & Imagination, sponsored by the Hawai’i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts (HSFCA), includes 38 works in a variety of media. Visitors are invited to contemplate how art communicates to them and learn about artists’ inspirations and intentions. Visitors can then post their perceptions, questions and insights on an interactive wall.

The opening of this exhibition coincides with First Friday HiSAM entertainment featuring the popular U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific from 6 to 9 p.m.

Admission is always FREE at all HiSAM galleries, events and presentations.
