KAMUELA, HI – General Orthopedic Surgeon John Bellatti, M.D., joins North Hawaii Community Hospital’s Orthopedic Clinic. Dr. Bellatti’s addition enables NHCH’s Orthopedic Clinic to provide more comprehensive services to patients of all ages across the whole spectrum of orthopedic injuries and diseases.
Dr. Bellatti is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with a special interest in arthritis of the hip and knee and minimally-invasive surgery. For 20 years, Dr. Bellatti practiced general orthopedics in Kealakekua on the Big Island. More recently he has treated orthopedic trauma patients at several sites on the mainland, including the last two years at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, WA, as an Orthopedic Hospitalist. “My whole family is happy to be in Waimea. I am especially happy to be back in Hawaii, working with many old friends at NHCH.” says Dr. Bellatti.
Dr. Bellatti graduated from Washington University Medical School in St. Louis with election into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed orthopedic surgery training at the University of Hawaii Integrated Orthopaedic Residency and had special training in trauma at the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, as well as pediatric orthopedics, spinal cord injury and arthritis surgery training at Rancho Los Amigos Hospital in Downey, CA.
Dr. Bellatti is the newest physician recruited into the hospital’s North Hawaii Medical Group, which was established in 2011 to directly hire healthcare providers in an effort to increase physician retention while working closely with community physicians to form a highly coordinated and integrated system of care.
