HONOLULU – Hawaii State Senate President Donna Mercado Kim opened her campaign headquarters for the 1st Congressional District race on Saturday, January 25, at 210 Ward Ave. Suite 120.
Kim has surpassed her initial fundraising goal she set for the December 31st reporting deadline.
“Since announcing my candidacy on November 6th, the support has been overwhelming. In 7 short weeks this campaign raised $330,000 with just 5% coming from PAC’s and 5% from out of out of state. This is an indication of the kind of broad based support that I’m seeking and humbly appreciate,” said Kim.
The public is welcome to stop by and learn about Senator Kim and get involved with her campaign.
Kim, who has never lost a race since she was first elected into state government in 1982, has already received the endorsement of the IBEW Local 1260.
Before being elected to the State Senate in 2000, Kim served 14 years on the Honolulu City Council and 3 years in the State House of Representatives.
