HONOLULU – In partnership with Kaiser Permanente Hawaii, L& L Hawaiian Barbecue on Ke’eaumoku Street (inside Walmart) will donate 100% of its sales between 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 16, 2013 to the Philippine typhoon relief efforts. The amount will be matched dollar for dollar by the L & L Foundation. In addition, volunteers from Kaiser Permanente Hawaii and other community organizations will solicit by fishnet for donations along Ke’eaumoku Street at the corner of South King Street and on Kapiolani Boulevard at the corner of Ke’eaumoku Street. Kaiser Permanente Hawaii will match all donations up to $5,000 towards their ongoing contribution for the Philippine typhoon relief effort. On hand will be L & L President & CEO Eddie Flores, Jr.
In addition to the November 16 fundraising effort, participating L & L locations nationwide will be accepting donations for ongoing relief efforts until the end of the month. 100% of all donations collected will be given to the Filipino Community Center to support relief efforts in wake of Typhoon Haiyan. Donation checks are also accepted; checks should be made payable to the Filipino Community Center.
The L & L Foundation was started by Eddie Flores, Jr. President and CEO of L&L Hawaiian Barbecue. It is the charitable arm of his company that helps various causes within the community.
