LIHUE – Fire officials report that lightning was the cause of a small brush fire that broke out in Lihue Sunday night.
Firefighters from the Lihue station were called to the vacant lot behind Kawili Street near Vidinha Stadium at around 6:40 p.m.
Less than a quarter-acre of wild grass was scorched before the fire was deemed under control at approximately 7:15 p.m.
No damage occurred to any of the surrounding structures and no injuries were reported.
