REPORT FROM THE FBI – Vida G. Bottom, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Honolulu Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), is seeking the public’s help in providing information leading to the location and arrest of fugitive husband and wife, JOHN & JULIEANNE DIMITRION.  The couple will be featured this week on the world premier of the new CNBC program, “American Greed: The Fugitives.”  The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to their capture.

In April 2009, the DIMITRIONs pled guilty to operating a fraud scheme in which they used their companies to convince distressed homeowners to relinquish their homes with the promise of improving the victims’ financial position.  They promised to invest the proceeds of the home sales, but instead the DIMITRIONs used the victims’ money to fund their own lavish lifestyles.  Multiple Oahu families lost their homes as a result of the DIMITRIONs’ crimes.

The DIMITRIONs were scheduled to be sentenced in Honolulu U.S. District Court on Tuesday July 6, 2010, but they failed to appear at the sentencing.  Warrants were immediately issued for their arrests, and an FBI fugitive manhunt is underway.

The DIMITRIONs were last seen by witnesses on the evening of Friday July 2, 2010 at church services held at the Mililani Recreation Center.  The FBI suspects that they have joined a domestic extremist group affiliated with the Sovereign Citizen’s Movement who arranged for the couple to be flown to the U.S. mainland on a private jet to escape justice.  They were last known to have been hiding in Alabama in 2011.  Their current whereabouts are unknown.

According to CNBC, “American Greed: The Fugitives” explores the inside world of active white-collar crime cases, telling never-before-heard stories. Each episode features interviews with law enforcement, prosecutors, and financial crime victims, all sharing the goal of bringing these fugitives to justice. “American Greed: The Fugitives” takes viewers on the hunt to catch the most wanted white-collar fugitives.

The DIMITRIONs episode of “American Greed: The Fugitives” is titled, “Mr. & Mrs. Mortgage Fraud” and will air on CNBC at the following times (all times below are Hawaii Standard Time):

Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 2pm, 3pm, and 6pm HST

     Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 4pm, 7pm HST

JOHN MICHAEL DIMITRION is 34 years old, 5’7” tall, 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.  He is known to have expensive tastes in sports cars, clothing and jewelry.  He is an enthusiast for high-end personal electronics and falsely claims to be an expert in international high finance.

JULIEANNE BALDUEZA DIMITRION is 32 years old, 4’11” tall, 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.  She is also known to enjoy the material trappings of the ultra-rich.  During the fraud investigation, the FBI noted that she spent tens-of-thousands of dollars on lingerie from expensive boutiques and actually sought to declare this lingerie as a “business expense” on her taxes.  At the time of her arrest on the original fraud charges, the FBI discovered closets filled to capacity with designer purses and shoes.

Anyone recognizing the DIMITRIONs or having information as to their current location is asked to call the Honolulu FBI at 808-566-4300.
