REPORT FROM MAUI DIVERS – Maui Divers Jewelry has appointed Todd Taniguchi as its Chief Financial Officer. Taniguchi will oversee the company’s financial operations, as well as lead and manage all fiscal functions including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and accounting. Taniguchi replaces Owen Masaki, who is retiring as CFO in July after 19 years with the company.
Taniguchi has significant experience in retail management, serving most recently as CFO of Reyn Spooner, Inc., where he developed sophisticated budgeting and cash projection models, and negotiated complex trademark agreements and licenses. From 2001-2008, he served as CFO, Treasurer, Director and Shareholder of Crazy Shirts. During his tenure, he improved the financial performance of the company and moved manufacturing from California to Hawaii. Taniguchi also worked as Financial and Systems Analysis Manager at Waikiki Trader Group and as a Supervising Senior Auditor at KPMG LLP.
“Todd has worked for two of Hawaii’s retail icons and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our company,” noted Mary Beth Brenner, President & CEO of Maui Divers Jewelry. “He will be an incredibly strong addition to our management team.”
Taniguchi is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting degree from the University of Hawaii.
