LĪHU‘E – The National Weather Service this morning issued a Flood Potential Outlook for the State of Hawai‘i stating that heavy rain and flash flooding is possible on Thursday and Friday.
The details on the timing, location and amount of rainfall remain uncertain and are highly dependent on the eventual track of Hurricane Iselle. The latest forecast for Iselle takes the system over the island chain as a gradually weakening tropical cyclone.
State and local officials are continually monitoring the weather and are prepared to respond to any emergencies.
Shelter openings will be announced if they are deemed necessary.
Please stayed tuned to the NOAA weather radio or local media for further information.
