NAVFAC Pacific Awards First Japan-funded DPRI Contract

PEARL HARBOR – Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Pacific awarded a $50 million maximum, firm-fixed price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) architect-engineer services contract Jan. 11 to AHL Setiadi Gushiken Joint Venture LLC of Honolulu.

The IDIQ contract is for the preparation of project engineering documentation, preliminary and final plans and specifications, Request for Proposals (RFP) contract documents, technical reports, construction cost estimates and consultation, and geotechnical investigations and studies for Navy and Marine Corps projects in support of the Defense Policy Review Initiative (DPRI) in the NAVFAC Pacific area of responsibility.

“This is our first DPRI contract awarded using Government of Japan funds,” said NAVFAC Pacific Vice Commander Captain Paul Fuligni. “We are very pleased to announce the contract award, and it is one more step by NAVFAC in support of the Joint Guam Program Office and the Marine Corps.”

DPRI Government of Japan funded projects (otherwise referred to as Mamizu funds) will involve new construction, repair and alteration of base development facilities. The primary project location for work on this contract is in Guam in support of the relocation of Marines from Okinawa.

Two design task orders for Naval Base Guam projects were issued under this contract today: Task Order 0001, which included $1,678,800.00 for a waterfront headquarters building, and Task Order 0002, which included $1,606,362.00 for a fire station.

The term of the contract is not to exceed five years, and has an expected completion date of December 2014. The contract was competitively procured via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website with 17 proposals received.
