Lee DeWyze's 'Live It Up' CDBY MARY MORNINGSTAR – The debut album by last year’s American Idol winner, Lee DeWyze, will be released on November 16.  Lee co-wrote all but one song on Live It Up, including the first single, “Sweet Serendipity.”   “To see my name listed in the credits on each song was really important to me because I’m a songwriter,” DeWyze said. “I also loved working with such talented writers.  They all brought so much to the table and helped me flesh out my sound.  I want people to relate to these songs.”

Underwood Song Featured in Upcoming Movie

Country star Carrie Underwood has written and recorded a song for the upcoming film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.  The track, called “There’s A Place For Us,” will be released on iTunes on November 16.  Underwood says she’s a big fan of C.S. Lewis’ Narnia novels.  The third in the series of Narnia movies will be in theaters on December 10.

Springsteen Releases CD, DVD Set

On November 16, Columbia Records will issue Bruce Springsteen’s 3-CD, 3-DVD set The Promise.  The collection features a remastered version of Springsteen’s 1978 album “Darkness on the Edge of Town,” a 90-minute documentary on the making of the album and 21 songs that didn’t make it onto the original release.  Also included is an 80-page booklet with alternate lyrics, personal notes and song ideas Springsteen wrote during the recording sessions.

Judds to Deliver Toys to Underprivileged Kids

On November 20, Eastern Kentucky natives Wynonna and Naomi Judd will help deliver 15 tons of toys to underprivileged children on the 68th annual Santa Train.  The train will stop in 14 cities in Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee.  Tori Kaplan, director of special events for CSX said, “We are honored to have an amazing duo like The Judds aboard this year’s Santa Train.  We know they will bring a special touch to the Santa Train and further brighten the spirits of Appalachian residents during the holiday season.”  Wynonna commented, “Sharing the joy of the holiday season with children who are growing up in a place so close to my heart is something that I am so honored and humbled to have the opportunity to do.  Participating in the Santa Train with my mother makes it even more special to me.”  Naomi and Wynonna have been aboard the Santa Train individually, but this marks the first time they’ll appear together.

Brooks Announces Additional Flood Benefit Dates

Garth Brooks has added eight more Middle Tennessee flood benefit concerts to his December schedule.  He sold 140,000 tickets for Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena shows.  The nine concerts, which are expected to raise $3.5 million for flood relief efforts, will take place on December 16, 17, 19, 20, 21 and 22.

Look Who’s Going On Tour!

On November 19, tickets will go on sale for Ke$ha’s first North American headlining tour.  The “Get $leazy” trek begins in Portland, Oregon on February 15, 2011.  She’ll be supporting her upcoming album “Cannibal,” which drops on November 23.  Concerts are scheduled to wrap up on May 6, 2011 in Los Angeles.
