Malia Zimmerman, editor of Hawaii Reporter, will be on the NewsMorphosis III panel on October 24

Please join us on Thursday, October 24th, for “NewsMorphosis III Online – is online news doing its job,” where an media industry panel will discuss the condition and evolution of the news organizations serving our community, with special emphasis on online news.

We’ll inquire into how online news and comment is working; how it can be improved; who is entering the field and by what new methods and technologies, including social media; the business models involved; the sources and quality of the news they are publishing; who is viewing and consuming that news; how the public is reacting to these new methodologies; whether they are being adequately informed on important issues; and how this is likely to change in the future.

Our moderator for the program will be Howard Dicus of Hawaii News Now and Hawaii Public Radio.

Our blue ribbon panel will include:

  • Patti Epler, Civil Beat/Huffington Post Hawaii
