OHA Turns Attention to Tentative Land Deal

HONOLULU, HAWAII – The Office of Hawaiian Affairs will hold a series of community meetings as part of a wider strategy to soothe concerns about the offer from the state to settle longstanding ceded-lands claims.

The statewide meetings begin Friday on Maui, where OHA will engage the Hawaiian community in detailed discussions about the tentative deal that, if approved by the Hawai’i Legislature, would give OHA 25 acres of property in Kaka’ako valued at an estimated $200 million.
