REPORT FROM THE HONOLULU LIQUOR COMMISSION – The Honolulu Liquor Commission (HLC) has created a new educational awareness brochure for sellers and servers of liquor in the City & County of Honolulu. The free brochure is now available in the HLC’s sixth floor lobby area at 711 Kapiolani Blvd and online at www.honolulu.gov/liq
“We created this resource as a tool to remind licensees and their employees about the importance of following the laws and rules when it comes to selling and serving liquor in licensed establishments,” said Greg Nishioka, the HLC’s administrator. “It provides answers to many of the frequently asked questions about the requirements for our weekly server training classes. We also plan to have it translated into a few other languages such as Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese and potentially others.”
Topics covered by the brochure include: a listing of documents to bring when registering for a liquor card; registration fees; server training class dates and times; liquor law citations; and HLC contact numbers. In addition, the brochure includes various reminders about citations, prohibitions, servicing, liquor purchasing laws, employees and more.
The Honolulu Liquor Commission regulates and enforces state and county laws regarding the manufacture, importation, sale and consumption of intoxicating liquors in Honolulu. For more information about the Commission, please visit www.honolulu.gov/liq
