Soldier Killed in Schofield Barracks Crash Identified

Schofield Barracks, Hawaii – A 25th Infantry Division Soldier died early Saturday morning following a vehicle accident on Schofield Barracks.

Spc. Phillip S. Bullins, 23, of Carthage, NC enlisted in the U.S. Army on September 10, 2009 and was assigned to A Company, 1 Battalion, 27th Inf. Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.

Bullins served as an Infantryman and Stryker Vehicle Driver during 2nd Brigade Combat Team’s most recent deployment to Iraq (June 2010 – June 2011) which supported Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.

Bullins’ awards and decorations include The Army Commendation Medal and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge.

Additional awards include the National Defense Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Iraqi Campaign Medal (w/Bronze Star), and the Army Service Ribbon.

Three other Soldiers were injured in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
