BY MALIA ZIMMERMAN – “Steve-O” Stephen Glover, star of the JACKASS TV series, JACKASS: THE MOVIE, JACKASS: NUMBER 2, JACKASS 3D and MTV’s WILDBOYZ, will be on tour in Hawaii this week on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island.

The comedian, known for his “Steve-O Don’t Try This At Home Tour” and “Steve-O’s Entirely Too Much Information Tour” is an accomplished stage performer who has been featured in various venues throughout America including LA’s Laugh Factory and New York City’s Comedy Cellar as well as in a dozen countries.

He can – and promises he will do – outrageous, dangerous and memorable stunts and bar tricks during his 1-hour stand up adults-only comedy show while here in the islands. He said he wants people to leave saying “that guy is STILL crazy!” He also will meet with every guest who wants to ask him a question or take a photo with him.

Steve O, who launched his career at age 15 when produced homemade skateboarding videos featuring him performing dangerous stunts in what he describes as a comical way, is now 37 years old. The former drug addicted star now lives a healthy life. He has successfully put himself through drug rehabilitation, and is a vegan, but that doesn’t stop him from graphically describing his most memorable experiences while high or the toll drugs took on his body physically. He struggles with a health problem related to his esophagus and has a hole in his nose from snorting drugs.

As he puts it: “He has been clean and sober since March of 2008 and lives a healthy, vegan lifestyle in the Los Angeles area…but he still has no problem stapling his balls to his leg.”

Steve O did graduate from Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Clown College but apparently that did not help his dancing. In 2009 he was a contestant on the ABC’s hit show, DANCING WITH THE STARS, but was booted from the show after six weeks with what he says was an “injury and “no dancing ability whatsoever.” He also released an autobiography, Professional Idiot: A Memoir, with the help of publisher Hyperion Books.

While he is here, he hopes to learn to surf and spend more time in the ocean.

On a past trip to Oahu 10 years ago, he has memories of smoking crack on Waikiki beach. Now with those times behind him, he looks forward to enjoying the beauty Hawaii has to offer.

After he wraps up his tour, Steve O will be starring in a new series on truTV as the host of Killer Karaoke, which most Hawaii people who have sung Karaoke can probably relate to. He will challenge contestants to sing in the midst of extreme, hilarious and sometimes skin-crawling situations.

He admits he isn’t a good role model for kids, and doesn’t want them at his show, but he does hope to bring laughter into people’s lives based on his “crazy” experiences and unique talents.
