Suspect arrested in connection with Kapa‘a woman’s death

Steven Michael Wilson, age 26 of Kapa‘a, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder and remains in police custody in lieu of $1 million bail.

KAPAA  – Police have arrested a suspect in the death of 21-year-old Kapa‘a woman Kendra Lewis.

Lewis was found dead in her room Friday afternoon. An autopsy conducted today confirmed that she died as a result of stab wounds.

Steven Michael Wilson, age 26 of Kapa‘a, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder and remains in police custody in lieu of $1 million bail.

Police believe Wilson, who was initially classified as a person of interest in the case, was living with the Lewis at the time of her death at the Kawaihau Sports Villa condominium. The two relocated here from Alaska at around the beginning of the year.

Police located Wilson Saturday afternoon and brought him in for questioning. He was subsequently arrested and charged for the crime.

Wilson’s arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday.
