Brian Evans, the singer who created “The Maui Celebrity Series” on Maui in 2009-2010, will again produce the series on the island, with an eye on bringing shows to other islands in Hawaii.
His series, which brought to Maui the likes of David Spade, Mick Fleetwood, Citizen Cope, Roseanne Barr, William Shatner, MOS DEF, Tom Green and Rob Schneider, will again bring an act to the islands every month.
Evans, who just finished recording his own debut album under producer Narada Michael Walden (Whitney Houston), also intends on writing several books as his album hits stores worldwide. He is the only artist ever to film a full length music video at Fenway Park. His first music video supporting his new album was just filmed. “At Fenway” which also features William Shatner as the home plate umpire.
Evans hires Hawaii only talent to open for the headliners at every show.
“It’s a great opportunity to allow people in Hawaii who want to be in showbiz the chance to open for a national act without having to go to the expense of trying on the mainland. With this show, the headliners come to them,” says Evans.
