Hawaii Public Radio’s News Department has scheduled an open public debate and live broadcast for Monday, March 15, 2010 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Atherton Studio at HPR, 738 Kaheka Street in Honolulu. HPR Political Reporter Wayne Yoshioka will moderate.
The candidates running for the U.S. First Congressional District seat recently vacated by Neil Abercrombie are Ed Case, Charles Djou, and Colleen Hanabusa.
The debate will be conducted before a live studio audience and broadcast live on KIPO 89.3. It also will be streamed on https://www.hawaiipublicradio.org
HPR will record the program for post-production and website posting. Olelo Community Television will be on site to record the event for later broadcast.
Admission is free, and a limited number of seats are being held for the general public. To reserve a seat, call HPR at 955-8821 during business hours.
If time permits, questions from the audience will be allowed.
*Charles Djou, Republican, represents the area from Waikiki to Hawaii Kai on the Honolulu City Council. Before entering the City Council, he served in the Hawaii State House of Representatives where he was the Minority Floor Leader.
