Urban outfitters HawaiiIn late November 2014, Urban Outfitters will open its first store in Honolulu, Hawaii, located at 2424 Kalakua Avenue within the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Atrium #101.

The two-story Urban Outfitters will occupy the southwest corner of the Pualeilani Atrium Shops directly across from the esteemed Wakiki Beach and serving as a gateway to more than 1,000 people per hour.

The 13,000 square foot store will have three entry point, with the primary entrance at ground floor street level.

Known for being localized, Urban Outfitters stores reflect elements unique to the community with each new location. Previously a convenience shop housing smaller vendors, the new space will be exposed back to its structural bones and complimented with finishing touches inspired by the island.

The storefront will be composed of indigenous Koa wood and the second floor boasts direct views out into the Pacific Ocean, truly embracing the Lenai lifestyle.

The store is slated to open in time for the holiday season and will employ 100 people in the area. To celebrate the opening, Urban Outfitters will host a traditional Hawaiian Blessing Ceremony in addition to partnering with local businesses, artists and vendors.

Urban Outfitters is an eclectic lifestyle retailer dedicated to inspiring customers through a unique combination of product, creativity, and cultural understanding.

Founded in 1970 in a small space across the street from the University of Pennsylvania, Urban Outfitters now operates over 200 stores in the United States, Canada and Europe offering experiential retail environments and an eclectic mix of curated women’s, men’s, accessories and home product assortments.
